Methodology
How drug supply is calculated
1. Base requirement
Patients × tablets/capsules per dose × doses per day × treatment days
2. Overage
Base requirement × (1 + overage %), then rounded up to whole bottles.
3. Total supply
Bottles required = bottles including overage. Tablets/capsules supplied = bottles required × tablets/capsules per bottle.
Scope
Built for oral solid dosage forms
This calculator is intended for tablets and capsules only. It assumes every planned patient receives the full planned treatment duration. Overage is user-defined and is applied before rounding to whole bottles.
Site/depot buffers, expiry, recruitment ramp, dropout timing, country allocation, IRT inventory optimisation, titration and dose escalation are not modelled in this version.
